In his essay entitled “Why Execution is the Source of Competitiveness,” James A. Champy wrote, “No sustainable business performance improvement happens unless there is an improvement in operations.”

Operations define an organization. The Internet and digital technologies in general are fundamentally changing the operations of organizations of all kinds - businesses, government, health care, and education alike.

The Web is radically changing organizations because it is changing operations. The Web is happening everyday. Employees are logged on and logged in.
